The Breeze

I did an interview with the breeze in Tauranga and they were really nice to me to help drum up some audience for the show tomorrow!

They asked if I had any special memories of Tauranga, and I paused and said something not specific because I didn’t know if it would be right to mention at that time that time, I escaped from the band got lost in the trees with some friends I met at the show and we broke into the ice skating rink and I skated in my boots and fell on my ass, and then we went night swimming and got caught in the tide and nearly drowned and then we went to the strip club and it all went a bit weird and the dancers were cool and full of guts and their audience wasn’t and then we went to this bar I remembered being called ‘The Home of Five Dollar Drinks’ and it really was and the bartender left us the pool table and to fill our own pints and go behind the bar and play whatever we wanted on the stereo while he went upstairs for god knows what and it might have been a one story place but that’s how loose I was feeling that there might be a second story but it didn’t matter because I was racking up for free and pouring my own pints and playing the jams like a well paid DJ.

I didn’t tell them any of that because, well I wasn’t sure if it would be appropriate at 9am but we did talk about Jimmy Barnes and how he was the best we ever opened for and how that made the breakfast host happy and it made me happy that at 9am we could offer a benediction to the spirit of Jimmy Barnes and that makes you feel alright!

Anyways I’m there tomorrow and the fabulous and holy Jam factory and if you were close or even far away this is where the tickets are:
