The literal first folk club ever to take a chance on ‘ol long talking, three chord strumming, roof raising, spirit rousing, veteran of the long way round, Adam McGrath and his band of chancers and ever hopers The Eastern was the Dunedin folk club. He’s worked hard singing its praises ever since and is always grateful to get a leg up on its hallowed stage both solo and with the band. This April sees his long awaited (by him!) return, this time with his very first solo album in tow ‘Dear Companions’. He promises good yarns, hopeful songs, humor and witness to the power of folk singing. He’s a true believer and hopes to make you feel like every cent of your ticket price he was willing to work for.
