Viva Small Halls Sessions!

started the small halls tour humble as, trying to help, trying to not get in the way, get soundcheck out of the way in ten minutes, fix the toilets, do the rubbish etc but three shows in they'd started to treat me so nice I started to feel like the better musicians might feel, like I was worth something, like I was important and then all bets were off...the demands come flowing, I needed to be carried in to the venue, fanned with a giant monstera leaf stolen from an indie bands photoshoot, I demanded silk slippers, and golden monitors, my water bottles opened and no one in the crew could look me in the eye, and I wanted an immediate increase of my ticket price to 17,000 times that of minimum wage.

Well, maybe not... the Black Flag tattoo on my wrist starts to glow and make a sizzling sound when that starts to happen. But they treated us so kindly and made everything easy and good. It was so nice I have probably lost my edge. Anyways they're doing important work with this series of things, inevitably they'll get burned out on musicians like me, but damn in the meantime, go see all the acts that are coming through this year! 150 shows! Thats some Eastern level shit! I believe in them, I'm a bit shifty about 'arts and culture' and sometimes the privilaged exaltations wrapping yourself in those words claims for you, but you know my life has been enriched and empowered and magicicised by arts and culture, and I pay my rent serving up my wonky brand of it, so Its important and hopeful what Jamie and his crew have got going on in the bay of hawkes, support it if you can, good things gotta grow, go cats go! viva Jamie, Millie, Olivia, Darius, Kalib, Izzy, Darryl, Grundy, Jordan Drive on you good true things! Thankyou for the space and time and support and faith!
